PCOS00UC20 - Carel ULTRACAPacitor MODULE for pCO sistema with valve driver EMBEDDED EVDEVO

The Ultracap module code PCOS00UC20 is an optional device for the pCO5 with an integrated EVDEVO valve driver that guarantees temporary power supply to the valve driver only in the event of power failures, for enough time to immediately close the connected electronic valves. It avoids the need to install a solenoid valve in the refrigerant circuit or use the backup battery kit.

The module is made using Ultracap storage capacitors (EDLC=Electric Double Layer Capacitor), which are recharged independently by
the module. Ultracap capacitors ensure reliability in terms of longer component life than a lead battery module: the life of the Ultracap module is 10 years.

The module is connected to the pCO5 as shown in the figure 1 and 2. The module is thus a solution integrated into the pCO5. It avoids the need for extra wiring by the installer, and does not increase the overall dimensions of the controller: driver, charge module and battery are all housed inside the 18 DIN modules. Not using lead batteries also means no special precautions are required regarding safety and pollution.
